If your remote is still blinking orange and you continue to experience issues, then you can read these additional troubleshooting steps from Amazon employees.

Do not interfere with other appliances

Sometimes, other devices and appliances can interfere with your Fire Stick, making it not work properly.

Amazon recommends that you place your Fire Stick device away from your TV and other electrical appliances.

It will be difficult to separate them since the Fire Stick is likely plugged into your TV. Make sure the Fire Stick is not resting flat on your TV.

Ideal is to have a little space between them.

Remote distance to Fire Stick device

Make sure your remote is at least 3 meters (10 feet) from your Fire Stick TV.

Signal issues may occur if you try to use your remote at a distance of more than 3 meters.

Move a little closer.

Check remote batteries

Although this may seem obvious, you’d be surprised at the number of times your remote blinks orange because it is caused by a defective battery.

Make certain that your AAA batteries are fresh and working properly.

When you are replacing batteries, make sure that the positive ends point towards the top of your remote.

Multiple Fire TV devices

Amazon Fire TV products have become so popular that many households own multiple Amazon Fire TV devices.

Sometimes, this can cause issues with your remote.

If your Fire TV device is one of many, ensure that the remote you use with it is not paired to another Fire TV device.

Although this is quite common, it can be frustrating if you don’t know about it. You should not place your Fire TV devices too close together.

Number of Bluetooth devices that can be paired with TV

Some Fire TVs and other smart TV brands come Bluetooth enabled.

You might want to disconnect a few Bluetooth devices that are paired with your smart television.

If they’re not connected, pair the Fire Stick remote once more.

Sometimes, just having too many Bluetooth devices paired simultaneously can affect your remote’s ability to connect.

Make sure to check all connections

If you still have issues, make sure to check all connections to your Fire Stick.

Particularly, I would inspect the connections between the power adapter, the outlet and the Fire TV Stick. Verify that the Fire TV Stick has power.

You should also verify the connection between your Fire TV Stick’s HDMI port and it. If the HDMI port you are using is not working, you might try another one.

For software updates, check your email

Amazon releases software updates regularly for both Fire TVs as well as Fire Stick devices. It is always a good idea that you are using the most recent version.

You may be experiencing an issue or bug in your software that has been resolved.

To update your Fire Stick device:

Go to Settings on your Fire TV > select > choose About> click System Update.
